From Deathwish: "Recorded by Jack Shirley (guitarist of Comadre), "Roads to Judah", is a hypnotic thirty eight minute plunge into hazy musical darkness. A dizzying hybrid of Shoe-gaze shimmer, Hardcore vulnerability, and Black Metal intensity.
From the opening drone of the album it's as if we are are peering through a dream into the private world that is Deafheaven's "Roads to Judah". Layers and layers of instrumentation build, tangle and swirl before the real onslaught begins. A ferocious drum fill then thrusts us from the serene into a free fall, as if the ground below suddenly gave way. From there we plummet through one awe inducing sonic fog into the next, blurring the traditional lines of song. Hyper blasts of speed rage and pulse while lush guitars bellow, roar and whine with unorthodox melody. And just as we feel we've departed from reality from the aural overload, tortured vocals cry out from afar. Serving as a stark reminder that there is something very human about "Roads to Judah" and Deafheaven themselves.
Though the title could suggest something otherworldly, the "Judah" referenced is in fact the "N Judah" train, the busiest line of the San Francisco transit system. A relatable landmark to compliment the haunting ambiguity that surrounds Deafheaven and the music that they collectively create. On it, much of the lyrical writing and personal reflection for this album took place.
With that said, "Roads to Judah" isn't Heavy Metal role play, but a beautifully blackened artistic exploration of the issues and self loathing that can cloud every day life. A stunning a achievement emotionally and musically that will surely shape aggressive music for years to come."

From Deathwish: "As Pearls Before Swine" is the first proper full length effort for Rot In Hell. From the first moments of haunting feedback in the opener "Fulminate of Mercury", it's apparent that something wicked has been unfurled. Just two minutes in, Rot In Hell sonically rips their world wide open, galloping forth into musical blackness. Songs like "Traitor's Gate" and "Lucius Ferre" are played with such violent ferocity it seems as though the band are simply collapsing in on themselves. The frenzied attack subsides slightly with the grim instrumental "Darkness Calls", acting as the foreboding eye of their storm. However the bloodbath soon kicks off again in songs like "Behavioral Resistance MMIX" and "Coyotenia". All of them leading us to a Hellmouth of a closer in their sprawling "Twilight Tongues".

From Animal Style Records: "Debut full length now available on vinyl. Daggermouth is a five piece pop-punk/melodic hardcore band from The Rain City of Vancouver, Canada. The band incorporates the best of both aforementioned music worlds in that they deliver great pop-punk songs with an edge akin to earlier melodic hardcore bands landing them somewhere between Set Your Goals and Shook Ones. Not so different from a mid '90s SoCal punk sound."

From Deathwish: "Recorded by CC of Mind Eraser at The Paincave, "Harvest of the Carcass" is an absolute monolith of an album. Where many contemporary bands wield a polished approach to being "brutal", New Lows wield a crude, blood soaked stone. Drop tuned riffing and bone shaking double bass pummels like a rain of anvils to the head. All the while, PBoy's guttural vocals weave a tale of social decay and emotional survival. All of these qualities make "Harvest of the Carcass" infectiously cro-magnon in the best way possible. Proving that New Lows are a welcomed alternative to the "metalcore" hybrid that saturates today's aggressive music scene."

From State of Mind Recordings: "From the ashes of DAMAGE CONTROL and SET MY PATH comes ANCHOR. Hailing from Sweden, ANCHOR plays a blend of passionate and message filled hardcore that really brings to mind bands like TRIAL and SNAPCASE but would also please the ears of VERSE / REFUSED / JUDGE fans. This is some real and true straight edge / vegan hardcore from one of the most respected bands in today’s European scene. This record compiles all there singles, splits, and eps."

From Reaper Records: "Take Offense, formed in 2005, is a band that hails from the Southwestern most region of the United States; Chula Vista, CA — a 5 minute travel from the Tijuana, Mexico border. With a sound undeniably influenced by the Venice style of Hardcore (Suicidal Tendencies, No Mercy, Beowulf), they are a refreshing and welcomed addition to a saturated market of cookie-cutter Hardcore bands... The record will feature a total of 10 songs — 7 of which brand new while 3 previously written songs will round out the release. From Deathwish: "After two years of anticipation we are proud to announce "Blind To What Is Right", the new album from The Carrier. With this recording we witness The Carrier venturing into new uncharted artistic territory for the band, delving deeper and becoming more introspective than ever before. Through the low end roar of the unrelenting title track "Blind To What Is Right", subtle glimmers of melody tear through an otherwise impenetrable wall of drop tuned sound. And that's just the beginning. The melancholy ebb and flow of "Hollow Pain" show The Carrier letting their guard down only to deliver a near perfect post hardcore anthem. While the infectious stomp of "A Stranger to Myself" slows things down as they collectively plummet into musical dissonance. Without question, "Blind To What Is Right" is The Carrier taking a welcomed step forward as the future kings of the hardcore genre."

From Six Feet Under Records: "Perth’s Miles Away are set to confirm their standing at the top of the hardcore heap with their awe-inspiring third album, Endless Roads. The culmination of eight years of hard work, heartache and good times, Endless Roads is the sound of a passionate, road-hardened band at the height of their powers.
Three years on from their previous effort, 2007’s Rewind Repeat, Miles Away are older, wiser and more determined than ever. Written last year during some rare downtime, Endless Roads was recorded in early 2010 at Wild Arctic studios in New York by producer Dean Baltulonis (Sick Of It All, American Nightmare)."

With guest appearances by Nick of Dead Swans (vocals on 'Levitation Lessons') and James of Rolo Tomassi (all keyboards), ‘Hellfire Reign’ is 10 tracks that shows the band writing a collection of songs that work and flow together, pushing their hardcore/metal sound out into doom, black metal and horror film soundtrack territory – an achievement clearly more than the sum of its parts. Thanks to Hyperrealist, Baroness' first two releases, "First" and "Second", have been slapped together on one LP. Makes sense, cause these two EP's go together like a PBJ sandwich. It all comes wrapped in a beautiful gatefold cover, and each record comes in a printed sleeve featuring more Baizley artwork. My mailorder experience with Hyperrealist have been horrible, so I highly recommend grabbing this from Robotic Empire instead.

"Lucky Me" is Killing the Dream's eagerly awaited follow up to their last album "Fractures". Deathwish is now taking pre-orders for "Lucky Me", and three different vinyl colors are available.
From Deathwish: "Recorded by Zach Ohren and Pat Hills, "Lucky Me" shows Killing The Dream in the grips of true artistic progression. With "Lucky Me", Killing The Dream have taken their formulaic metallic hardcore approach and evolved within it. Injecting hook laden melodies deep in their core that bring new dimension and depth to an already impressive sound. "Lucky Me" shows that a band can grow within, without having to leave themselves or their audience, behind."

From Bridge 9: "Almost a year ago (October 17th, to be exact), Have Heart played their last show on Edge Day as a benefit for a women's shelter in Boston. As the band took the stage and the intro started, the room swelled with anticipation and there was unstoppable energy from 2,000 people in the venue throughout their entire performance. Have Heart delivered an hour+ long set at one of the most memorable events in hardcore history. Six cameras and countless mic's captured every sight and sound in the room and Bridge Nine will release Have Heart's final performance on November 23, 2010."
In celebration of the one year anniversary of Have Heart's final show, Bridge 9 is now taking pre-orders for the "10.17.09" LP/DVD/CD. A package that includes the LP/CD/DVD/Poster is available, and the first 1,000 pre-orders will get dibs on the more limited colors of vinyl.
